Instructions:
Watch the video tutorial for making DIY Diwali wall hanging.
- Using a compass draw circles of radius 5.5 cm on piece of cardboard.
- Draw a line in the middle to divide the circle into two equal halves.
- Now take a small piece of yellow paper and make a flame to fit one half of this circle and cut it out as shown below.
- Now trace this flame on the cardboard so that the drawing resembles a burning diya and eventually our DIY Diwali wall hanging will also look like a diya.
- Next cut out this shape carefully and remove the excess cardboard.
- Also cut out a smaller flame from an orange piece of paper.
- Now stick a piece of semi-circle paper on the bottom part and the flame cut outs on top.
- Take a paper of size 21 cm * 5cm and roll it tightly to make small paper tubes.
- Cut the paper tube in such a way to get one bigger and one smaller part.
- Make more such paper tubes and cut to size.
- Take a paper of size 9 cm * 9 cm and fold it in half diagonally.
- Cut along the diagonal crease to get two triangle shapes of paper.
- Take one piece and fold it in half along the height, make a crease and open the fold
- Now fold the triangle piece of paper in a zigzag manner to get a thin strip.
- Fold this strip along the middle and you will get a beautiful leaf shape.
- Apply glue and secure.
- Follow the steps above (11 onwards) to make similar leaves in different colors of your choice.
- Now that we have all the pieces ready, we will assemble our DIY Diwali wall hanging.
- Stick a big paper tube on the top portion of the diya.
- Now stick the smaller paper tubes along the bottom curve of the diya.
- Make sure to alternate between the two sizes of paper tubes as shown in the picture below.
- Now stick the colorful leaves on the bigger paper tubes.
