DIY Cement Candle Holder

It is a great DIY home décor project and can be made for Christmas decorations, Diwali decorations or to just brighten and lighten up small corners of your home. You can make the basic structure as per this tutorial and then paint and decorate these cute candle holders as per your taste and imagination.

Materials Required:

• Empty Plastic Bottle
• Tape
• Paper Cutter
• Cement
• Water
• Glass or container to make a hollow core
• Some weight in the form of pebbles or coins
• Petroleum Jelly
• Sand Paper
• Paint & Glitter

Instructions:

1. Wrap the tape around the plastic bottle to mark the edges for cutting.
2. Cut the plastic bottle in the desired size of the DIY Cement Candle Holder.
3. In another disposable container mix cement with water to form a thick paste.
4. Pour the cement mixture into the plastic bottle container up to half.
5. Apply petroleum jelly on the surface of the glass and push it inside the cement mixture.
6. Adjust the position of the glass to make a hollow core for the candle holder.
7. Put some pebbles or coins as weight to hold the glass in place.
8. Once dry, slowly remove the glass from inside.
9. Cut out the plastic bottle from around the DIY cement Candle Holder.
10. Using a sand paper, smoothen out the surface of the candle holder.
11. Paint the candle holder using acrylic paint.
12. You can also use glitter or glitter nail polish to give it a more festive look.
13. Let the paint dry completely and then the candle holder is ready for use.
