This paper star looks just like the foldable paper stars sold in shops but is surprisingly easy to make. Made using very basic craft supplies, this paper Christmas star is a must try Christmas craft. You can also put a light bulb or fairy lights inside this star to brighten up your porch or balcony. Just follow the step by step tutorial and see how easy it is to make this gorgeous paper star.

Materials Required:
- A4 Size Colour Craft Paper
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Paper Cutter
- Thread
- Toothpick
- Craft Punch
- Glue
Instructions:

- Fold the A4 size colour craft paper diagonally, aligning the edges, to make a triangle.
- Cut along the edge to make a square piece of paper.
- Fold to align the edges to the diagonal fold to get a diamond shape.
- Apply a thin line of glue to paste the edges together.
- Draw a smaller triangle as shown and cut out the excess.
- Cut approximately 1 cm from both the corners as shown.
- Cut another small triangle shape in the middle of height 1 cm.
- Fold the edges taking a width of 1 cm as shown.
- Cut out this 1 cm fold on one side of the paper.
- Using craft punch, cut out small star shapes along the sides.
- Make 5 such units for the Paper Christmas Star.
- Paste all the 5 units on top of each other.
- Cut out 2 small paper circles and paste on the inside of the outer most units.
- Tie thread on two small pieces of toothpick.
- Punch holes on the outer units where the small paper circles were pasted.
- Insert the toothpick and thread through these punched holes.
- Now, slowly pull the strings to open up the paper star.
- You can also insert a light into the star through this opening at this point.
- Tie the thread tightly to complete the star and hang it for your Christmas decorations.
So here it is, your beautiful paper Christmas star. It is a fairly large paper star, great for outdoor Christmas decoration. You can put in a bulb with holder inside the star or use some fairy lights to light it up. The little stars cut out on the sides using craft punch give a really beautiful effect once some light is put inside. We have used regular A4 colour craft paper for making this Christmas star but you can also use different kinds of printed or textured papers to give it a more festive and glam look.
