Paper Flower Decorations

Paper flower decorations are one of the most popular decoration ideas for all occasions and rightly so. They are versatile, easy to make and can be used on almost all special occasions, be it wedding, birthday party, baby shower or festivals like Diwali and Christmas etc. In this DIY craft tutorial, we will show you how to make beautiful paper flower decorations made from paper strips. Here we made the flowers in the colour combination of red, green and white keeping in mind the holiday season. You can make these paper strip flowers as hanging decorations to decorate your homes, use it as window glass decorations or use as paper ornaments to decorate your Christmas tree.

So, let’s get started.

Materials Required:

• Colour Craft Paper
• Cutting Mat
• Ruler
• Paper Cutter
• Stapler
• Glue

Instructions:

1. Using a cutting mat and paper cutter, cut out 6 paper strips of 2 cm * 21 cm each. We have used A4 size colour craft papers in red and green for the same.
2. Similarly, cut another set of 6 paper strips of size 2 cm * 11 cm. We have used white paper for this.
3. Stack all both the paper sets and then fold from the middle to get a centre line for the paper flower decorations.
4. Now take one strip of the larger paper strip and put one piece of smaller strip on top of it. Make sure that the centre line of both the strips are aligned.
5. Similarly, stack the rest of the paper strips, alternating between the two colours sizes.
6. Now use a stapler on the centre line to attach all the paper strips together.
7. Apply glue on the free edge of the small paper strip and fold to paste it on the centre line.
8. Next, apply glue on the free edge of the larger paper strip and fold to paste it on the centre line. Keep in mind to keep the smaller loop inside this loop. This will complete one petal of the paper flower.
9. Repeat the same process to make more petals until all the paper strips are looped in.
10. You can now attach a string between two petals in order to hang the paper flower decorations if required.
